SERVICES
THEORY AND HAZARD PERCEPTION TRAINING
You must pass this two-part test before applying for the practical driving test.
The training is FREE and help can be supplied via reading material or use of in-car DVD.
DRIVING LESSONS
All driving lessons are carried out to Driving Standards Agency requirements. The full DSA syllabus is covered and from the very start of your training we will keep you up to date with your progress.
Lessons can be 1 hour, 1.5 hours or 2 hours in duration.
Lessons are available 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday.
PASS PLUS
Pass Plus is a training scheme for new drivers and it is so much more than just a few extra lessons. This specially designed course by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA), with the help of insurers and the driving instruction industry, helps you gain valuable driving experience.
You will be taught how to deal with a wide range of road and traffic situations which you probably won’t have faced before.
The course will help boost your awareness of all kinds of hazards and help you learn how to anticipate, plan for and deal with them safely and reducing your risk of being involved in an accident.
The pass plus course is a six part course covering the following modules: town driving, all-weather driving, out of town driving, night driving, driving on dual carriageways and motorways.
You can take the course any time within the first 12 months of passing your test.
On completing the course to the required standard you should be entitled to a substantial discount on your car insurance premium from companies supporting the scheme. Don’t worry if you have not got a car at the moment, you may be able to defer the discount for up to two years, check with your insurance company.

MOTORWAY LESSONS
As motorways are out of bounds to learner drivers, newly qualified drivers will have no experience of motorway driving. It is a completely different experience from everyday driving. Different rules apply and you need to be prepared for situations to develop a lot quicker due to the high speeds at which most people drive. Motorway lessons can give you the knowledge and confidence to be a competent and safe motorway driver.
Motorway lessons are useful whether you are a newly qualified driver or just want to build up your confidence.
We recommend a minimum of 2 hours for a motorway lesson.
All aspects of motorway driving are covered, these include:
- planning journeys in advance
- joining and leaving a motorway, using slip roads
- safe speeds in different circumstances
- effective observation all around your vehicle
- signs, signals and markings
- overtaking and lane discipline
- courtesy to other road users
- motorway fatigue
- breakdown procedures
- use of lights, including hazard warning lights
- debris on the carriageway
- crosswinds
REFRESHER LESSONS
Refresher lessons are just the thing for you if you’ve passed your test a while back and haven’t had the confidence to go out on your own or didn’t get a car right away and feel that you need a little refresher on how to drive and re-gain your confidence.
