Hazard Perception Test

The second part of the test is again computer based and lasts 20 minutes. The test consists of 14 video clips which feature every day road scenes, in each clip there will be one developing hazard and one clip will feature two developing hazards.
To achieve a high score you will need to respond to the developing hazard during the early stage of its development. The maximum you can score on each hazard is 5. The pass mark is 44 out of 75.

Both parts of the test must be passed on the same day and you must pass them before applying for the practical driving test.

Practical Driving Test

Tdipstickhe candidate will be required to demonstrate basic safety checks to ensure the vehicle is safe for use. The candidate may need to open the bonnet to identify where fluid levels would be checked but you would not be asked to physically check fluid levels.

Candidates will be asked two questions, one ‘show me’ and one ‘tell me’. One or both questions answered incorrectly will result as one driving fault.

The Driving Test

This part of the driving test is approximately 35-40 minutes and it’s designed to see if you can drive safely and check your knowledge of The Highway Code, this should be demonstrated through your driving.

You will be required to perform two slow reversing manoeuvres (from reversing around a corner, turning in the road and reverse parking). You may also be asked to carry out an emergency stop.

To pass your driving test you can make up to 15 minor driving faults (16 or more results in a fail), if you commit one serious or dangerous fault you will fail the test.
